Google has introduced a feature for its Pixel 10 phones that allows file sharing with iPhones, effectively linking its Android-based Quick Share function with Apple's previously exclusive AirDrop technology. This development enables users to send photos, videos, and other files from a Pixel 10 to a nearby iPhone, breaking a long-standing barrier between the two dominant mobile operating systems. The interoperability, however, comes with a key condition: the receiving iPhone must have its AirDrop settings configured to 'Everyone for 10 Minutes' to accept the transfer from the Android device. Reports suggest that Google developed this feature without official collaboration from Apple, and it remains to be seen if Apple will respond or potentially block the functionality in the future.
