Adobe reversed its decision to shut down its 2D animation software, Animate.
The reversal followed significant backlash from creators who rely on the long-standing software for their workflows.
In response to the outcry, Adobe announced Animate will not be discontinued and will instead be placed in "maintenance mode."
The software remains available for both existing and new customers and will receive security updates and bug fixes. Adobe will develop no new features.
An Adobe representative apologized for the "confusion and angst" the initial announcement caused the community.
