Alibaba has renewed its effort in the consumer AI sector by integrating a new AI chatbot assistant within its Quark application. This initiative aims to challenge rivals like ByteDance and Tencent in a competitive market, repositioning the Quark app as the company's main consumer-facing AI platform. The chatbot is powered by Alibaba's latest Qwen3 large language models for an improved user experience. In a parallel move into hardware, the company launched pre-sales for its Quark AI Glasses, priced around $660, with shipments expected in December. The smart glasses are designed to integrate deeply with Alibaba's ecosystem, including services like Alipay and Taobao. This product launch places Alibaba in direct competition with Meta's smart glasses and signals a strategic entry into the wearable AI market.
