Baidu is advancing its autonomous driving ambitions in the Middle East. The company aims to deploy hundreds of fully driverless vehicles in Abu Dhabi by the end of 2026.

Baidu partnered with AutoGo, a UAE-based autonomous mobility company, for this initiative. Their ultimate goal is establishing the largest fully driverless fleet operating in Abu Dhabi.

This expansion places Baidu alongside Chinese robotaxi developers WeRide and Pony.ai, which are also scaling operations in the UAE. The region’s strategic push toward clean energy and new technology created a welcoming environment for autonomous vehicle companies.
