Baidu's autonomous ride-hailing service, Apollo Go, has secured one of Abu Dhabi's first commercial permits for fully driverless robotaxi services. This milestone, achieved in partnership with UAE-based autonomous mobility company AutoGo, allows the service to be offered to the general public. The announcement was made during Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week. The partnership plans a significant expansion, aiming to scale the autonomous vehicle fleet to hundreds of units in the city by 2026. This move marks a significant step in Baidu's global expansion for its autonomous driving technology, building on months of driverless testing on public roads in the region.
