Ethical investment advocates are pressuring several major New Zealand pension funds, known as KiwiSaver schemes, over their holdings in Booking Holdings.

This scrutiny follows bank ASB’s recent divestment from Motorola Solutions, a move prompted by a pro-Palestine campaign. However, ASB retained its investment in Booking and other companies accused of profiting from listings on seized Palestinian land.

The ethical investment platform Mindful Money notes that KiwiSaver funds managed by other large banks—including ANZ, BNZ, and Westpac—also hold shares in Booking Holdings. Advocates argue these investments support violations of Palestinian human rights.

The advocates are calling for these banks to divest from the companies immediately. No market reaction analysis regarding this pressure was available.
