Berkshire Hathaway Energy's Cove Point liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Maryland has come back into service following a scheduled maintenance outage. The plant, which had been shut down since around September 20th for planned autumn maintenance, resumed operations on Sunday, October 12th, with gas flows increasing to 0.9 billion cubic feet per day. Such planned shutdowns for maintenance at U.S. LNG plants are typical during the spring and fall when global demand for gas is lower. This operational update is significant for Berkshire Hathaway's energy division, ensuring the facility is prepared for the higher demand winter season.
