Coherent Corp. expanded its Pluggable Optical Line System (POLS) portfolio with a new system. This system addresses the rising data demands of AI infrastructure. The enhanced POLS provides full C-band, high-power variable-gain amplification. It operates within a compact QSFP pluggable module.
The new product is engineered for the latest 800G ZR/ZR+ coherent optics. It supports up to 32 wavelengths on a single fiber pair. This enables a data throughput of up to 25.6 terabits per second. This significantly increases capacity for AI and cloud data traffic. The system supports links ranging from 2 to 200 kilometers. Its plug-and-play functionality simplifies deployment and lowers operational costs for network operators.
