Coinbase has launched a new savings account for select users in the United Kingdom, with a progressive rollout planned for all UK customers. The product offers a variable interest rate of 3.75% AER on Great British Pound (GBP) holdings, with interest paid out daily. This move aims to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and traditional financial services, making Coinbase a more comprehensive financial platform for its UK user base. A key feature of the new offering is its partnership with Clearbank, which provides deposit protection through the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). This means customers' GBP balances are safeguarded up to £85,000, offering a level of security comparable to traditional UK banks and addressing a critical aspect of customer trust in the digital asset space.
