Duolingo launched the player-vs-player (PvP) mode for its Chess course on Android. This expansion follows the feature's iOS debut in late 2025.
The rollout increases match availability. It also reduces global wait times for players.
The beginner-focused course uses puzzle-based lessons and guided gameplay to teach strategy and critical thinking. The PvP mode combines skill development with social competition to drive engagement.
Future updates include friend-based play. The company will also add game review tools. Duolingo plans to bring the feature to its web platform.
