General Motors will invest $63 million in its Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant. The company announced the plan on February 18, 2026.

The funds will upgrade stamping operations. This prepares the facility for next-generation gas-powered full-size pickup trucks.

At the end of January, GM cut the third shift at the plant. The move resulted in hundreds of layoffs.

The investment highlights the facility's role in GM's full-size truck portfolio. GM has invested $1.5 billion in the Oshawa plant since 2020.
