Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin are moving dozens of personal business entities and assets out of California. In late 2025, an entity linked to Brin relocated 15 LLCs, with some converting to Nevada entities. [2, 5] Page has also shifted numerous entities, including his family office, to states like Delaware, Nevada, and Florida. [6, 13, 14] A joint Brin-Page entity was also converted from a California LLC to one based in Delaware. [4, 8]

The actions precede a potential California ballot measure that would impose a one-time 5% tax on residents worth more than $1 billion. [2, 4] If approved by voters, the tax would apply retroactively to anyone residing in the state as of January 1, 2026. [6, 11] While the founders stepped down from running Alphabet in 2019, they remain on the board, and their departure from California is a symbolic move for Silicon Valley. [3, 5]
