Li Auto secured Level 3 autonomous driving road testing permits in Beijing, its headquarters city. This authorization allows the company to conduct conditional autonomous driving tests on designated public roads.
The move follows a recent regulatory update in China's autonomous driving sector. Securing the permit brings Li Auto in line with competitors, including Xpeng, which also holds similar authorizations.
Separately, Li Auto announced it granted 10.8 million share awards to 1,053 employees. The awards are part of the company's ongoing incentive plan.
Following the announcement, the automaker’s shares fell nearly 3% in Hong Kong trading.
