Hesai Group, the world's largest manufacturer of lidar sensors and a key supplier for Li Auto, announced a partnership with U.S. chip giant Nvidia on January 6, 2026.
Hesai will integrate its lidar sensors into Nvidia’s Drive Hyperion platform. This platform supports Level 4 autonomous driving standards. The collaboration unites a leading sensor provider and a top chipmaker, marking a significant development for the autonomous vehicle sector.
Hesai currently supplies sensors to Li Auto. This partnership could provide Li Auto with access to more advanced and integrated autonomous driving solutions in the future.
The announcement coincides with Hesai’s plans to expand capacity. Hesai plans to double its production capacity in 2026 to meet the growing demand for advanced lidar technology.
