Meta Platforms has officially paused the international expansion of its AI-enabled Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, which was scheduled for early 2026. The planned launch in several countries, including the U.K., France, Italy, and Canada, has been postponed indefinitely as the company prioritizes its domestic market.

According to a company blog post, the delay is a result of unexpectedly strong demand in the United States. Meta stated that "overwhelming interest" since the launch last fall has led to limited inventory and product waitlists extending well into 2026. The company will focus on fulfilling existing U.S. orders for the glasses, which are produced in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, before re-evaluating its international rollout strategy.
