Meta is introducing new advertising formats on its Threads platform, positioning itself to capture more ad revenue during the busy holiday shopping period. The update provides advertisers with more creative flexibility and campaign visibility across Meta's suite of apps, including Facebook and Instagram, by enabling new ad types through an updated Marketing API (MAPI). The specific changes allow for more engaging visuals in the Threads feed. The maximum height for single image and video ads has been increased from a square 1:1 aspect ratio to a taller 4:5 format. Furthermore, the platform's Marketing API will now support all video ad aspect ratios, giving marketers greater flexibility in their campaign assets.
