Meta announced the expansion of its AI-powered translation feature for Reels on Instagram and Facebook to include Hindi and Portuguese. This update builds on the existing English and Spanish translation capabilities, allowing creators to dub their content into these new languages, complete with voice and tone mimicking and an optional lip-syncing feature to appear more natural. The feature is available for free to all public Instagram accounts and Facebook creators with over 1,000 followers in regions where Meta AI is available. This move is aimed at breaking down language barriers and helping creators reach a wider global audience, particularly in some of Meta's largest markets for Reels. The company also provides controls for users to manage which translated languages they see, and each translated reel is labeled to indicate that it was translated by Meta AI.
