Oracle announced the availability of Oracle Database@Google Cloud in Australia, allowing customers to run Oracle database services on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) physically located within Google Cloud's Melbourne datacenter. This move deepens the partnership between the two tech giants and is designed to help Australian customers accelerate their IT modernization and address data residency regulations. The service enables organizations to combine Oracle's high-performance database capabilities with Google Cloud's native AI and analytics services, such as Gemini models and Vertex AI. The initial supported service is the Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure. Stephen Bovis, Oracle's regional managing director, stated that the launch supports the strong customer demand for multicloud solutions in Australia.
