Oracle expanded its Oracle Database@Azure service, extending availability to two new regions. The service is now available in the West Europe (Netherlands) region and Brazil Southeast (Rio de Janeiro).
This expansion addresses specific customer requirements for data residency, latency, and regulatory compliance. The move allows local customers to keep their data within their country while leveraging the joint Oracle-Microsoft cloud solution.
The strategy embeds Oracle database services directly within major hyperscaler data centers. The service runs Oracle Exadata infrastructure inside Microsoft Azure facilities. This enables customers to move existing on-premises Oracle database workloads to the cloud without re-architecting applications, simplifying migration and maintaining operational consistency.
