Oracle is providing the core blockchain ledger and infrastructure for the new Commercial Bank Money Token (CBMT) Sandbox, which has a launch event on November 19, 2025, in Frankfurt. The sandbox environment allows banks and other enterprises to test and pilot the use of tokenized commercial bank money for various institutional and corporate applications, such as on-chain payments and innovative financial products. The CBMT initiative, which includes major German banks and industrial firms, aims to place commercial bank money on distributed ledger technology (DLT) to seamlessly integrate money flows with business processes. By using a tokenized version of existing bank deposits, the project seeks to offer a stable and regulated form of programmable money for the digital economy, avoiding the risks associated with stablecoins.
