This Q3 2025 figure represents a 6.2% rise from the second quarter of 2025. Year-over-year, buybacks increased 9.9% compared to the third quarter of 2024.

Total buyback expenditure for the 12-month period ending in September 2025 reached a record $1.02 trillion. This marks the second time the 12-month total has surpassed the $1 trillion threshold.
