United Airlines announced a significant domestic route expansion from its Chicago O'Hare hub, adding 10 new and resumed routes scheduled to begin in the spring and summer of 2026. This growth was made possible after the airline secured additional gates at the airport earlier in the year, partly at the expense of its rival, American Airlines. The new services will primarily connect Chicago with smaller markets in the West and Midwest, including destinations like Eugene, Oregon; Paducah, Kentucky; and Santa Barbara, California. Importantly, six of the new routes are not currently served by any other carrier from O'Hare. The expansion will bring the total number of destinations United serves from its hometown hub to 212, surpassing its pre-pandemic levels and reinforcing its competitive position at one of the nation's busiest airports.
