United Airlines will launch new seasonal nonstop flights this summer. The routes connect Portland International Jetport (PWM) to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO).

This expansion grants PWM nonstop access to all seven of United’s U.S. hubs. The move enhances West Coast connectivity during the peak tourist season.

Despite the operational expansion, United’s stock faced downward pressure. This market reaction stemmed from concerns over a proposed cap on credit card interest rates.

The proposed cap could negatively impact the highly profitable mileage sales programs airlines maintain with financial partners. United is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results on January 20.
