A United Airlines flight traveling from Dallas to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing in St. Louis on Sunday morning following a bomb threat. A male passenger reportedly claimed that there was a bomb in his wife's luggage, prompting the flight crew to divert the aircraft to St. Louis Lambert International Airport. The passenger was arrested upon landing. All 119 passengers and five crew members were evacuated from the Boeing 737-700 while bomb and arson teams searched the aircraft. No explosive device was found, and the aircraft was eventually cleared. The flight, after a delay of over five hours, continued on to its original destination in Chicago.
