Walmart completed a historic transfer from the NYSE to Nasdaq on December 9, 2025. This move represents the largest exchange transfer in history.

The retail giant is now eligible for inclusion in the Nasdaq 100 index. However, the listing change occurred after the index’s December 2025 annual review cut-off. Inclusion is therefore anticipated during the December 2026 review.

Analysts forecast that inclusion in the tech-heavy index will create substantial demand from passive funds. Projections estimate demand at approximately 600 million shares. This volume is valued at around $70 billion.
