The purchase follows a trend of increased institutional interest. Other large institutional investors have also recently increased their holdings in the retail giant. Institutional investors currently hold 26.76% of Walmart’s stock.

The investment follows Walmart’s strong quarterly performance. The company surpassed analyst expectations for both earnings per share and revenue, reporting an EPS of $0.62 on $179.5 billion in revenue.

Walmart also set its fiscal year 2026 earnings guidance. The company projects earnings of $2.58 to $2.63 per share.
