Walmart launched a new initiative to make clinical research more accessible. It will open research sites within local communities.
The Walmart Healthcare Research Institute (WHRI) collaborates with Care Access on the project. Walmart will establish sites in three former Walmart Health locations and one rural store.
This strategy aims to remove traditional barriers to research participation, including travel and limited awareness. The initiative supports Walmart's broader goal of becoming a comprehensive health and wellness destination.
Walmart also announced a "Wellness Event" scheduled for January 24. Customers can receive free health screenings and low-cost immunizations. The event will take place at nearly 4,600 pharmacies nationwide. This reinforces the company's commitment to community-based preventative care.
