LG Electronics opened a new $310 million home appliance factory in Paraná, Brazil. The investment totals approximately BRL 1.5 billion for the company’s second production base in the country. The facility will initially manufacture refrigerators with an annual capacity of 600,000 units.

This smart factory utilizes AI, industrial robots, and digital twin technology to enhance production efficiency. Localized manufacturing reduces reliance on Asian imports and lowers regional logistics costs. LG tailored these refrigerators for the Brazilian market with dual-voltage compatibility and climate-specific functions.

The plant is a central component of LG’s strategy to expand in Global South emerging markets. The Paraná facility will eventually serve as a strategic export hub for Argentina and Uruguay. This expansion strengthens LG’s regional supply chain and competitive position across Latin America.
