Tencent signed a $7 billion agreement with Oracle to lease advanced AI chips. The contract spans a five-year period. The deal covers approximately 100,000 high-performance processors.
This represents Tencent’s largest overseas chip lease to date. The agreement requires an upfront payment of roughly 30%.
Tencent will utilize Oracle data centers in Southeast Asia for AI model development. The move bypasses U.S. export restrictions on high-performance hardware within China.
