Apple initiated a grayscale test for its "Apple Intelligence and Siri" features among select users in mainland China. This move signals progress in localizing the company's AI offerings.
The test began on January 2, 2026. It involves users operating devices such as the iPhone 16 Plus running the updated iOS 26.2 version. Participants noted that the standard "Siri" settings have been renamed to "Apple Intelligence and Siri."
A new AI-powered image generation application, "Photo Garden," also appeared on device desktops.
Initial user feedback indicates that the performance of some functions is still being polished. These capabilities have not yet fully met the standards demonstrated in official promotions.
