Apple has released a new version of its AirTag item tracker, enhancing its core finding capabilities. The upgraded device features a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip that increases the Precision Finding range by 50%. It also includes a speaker that is 50% louder, aiding location by sound from further away. A significant new feature allows users with a compatible Apple Watch to use Precision Finding directly from their wrist for the first time.
Despite the internal upgrades, the new AirTag's pricing remains the same at $29 for one and $99 for a four-pack. The physical design is also unchanged, ensuring compatibility with existing accessories. The new model is available for order today via Apple's website and will be in retail stores later this week.
