General Motors partnered with Apple to natively integrate the Apple Music app into new Chevrolet and Cadillac models.
The rollout began December 15 via an over-the-air update. This initial phase targets certain 2025 model year vehicles in the US and Canada. Buick and GMC models will follow.
The integration utilizes the vehicle’s built-in OnStar system for connectivity. Separately, specific Cadillac models will support Apple’s Spatial Audio feature.
This integration follows GM’s controversial decision to phase out the Apple CarPlay system in its newer vehicles. The strategic deal ensures Apple maintains a service presence within the infotainment systems of new GM cars.
