Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 will feature new silicon-carbon battery technology. This technology provides greater power capacity within the same physical dimensions as traditional lithium-ion batteries.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 contains a 4,800mAh battery. Both models represent an increase from the 4,400mAh capacity found in the previous generation.
Silicon-carbon batteries enable higher energy density and support faster charging speeds. Samsung stated the new batteries meet all safety, stability, and longevity requirements. The battery lifespan remains consistent with previous foldable models.
