The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) launched an investigation into Adobe over potential consumer protection law violations. The probe focuses on Adobe’s "annual billed monthly" subscription plan.
Adobe currently offers customers a 14-day grace period for cancellations. After this window, the company charges 50% of the remaining contract value. Regulators are assessing if these terms are unfair or lack clear disclosure.
This is the ninth investigation conducted under the CMA’s direct enforcement powers. These powers allow for fines reaching 10% of a company’s global turnover without court intervention. The regulator has not yet reached a conclusion on whether Adobe broke the law.
