Adobe agreed to pay $75 million to resolve a U.S. government lawsuit regarding deceptive subscription practices. The company will also provide $75 million in free services to affected customers.

The U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission filed the complaint in June 2024. Regulators alleged Adobe hid the terms of its annual, paid monthly plan behind fine print and hyperlinks.

The government claimed these practices obscured fees reaching hundreds of dollars and complicated the cancellation process. Adobe denied any wrongdoing but settled to conclude the litigation.
