ByteDance has started integrating its new generative AI model, Dreamina Seedance 2.0, into its popular CapCut video editing application. The model allows users to generate clips up to 15 seconds long from text and image prompts, featuring capabilities like multi-shot storytelling, native audio generation, and director-level camera control.
The rollout is initially available to some paid users in select markets across Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East, with plans for further expansion. The United States is not among the initial launch markets. This move positions ByteDance to compete more directly with other major players in the rapidly advancing field of AI video generation. The company has stated it is implementing safeguards to prevent the unauthorized use of intellectual property, a concern that has previously been raised by Hollywood studios.
