Akanda Corp. appointed board member Christopher Cooper as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 3, 2026. This leadership transition follows the resignation of Interim CEO and Executive Director Katie Field on the same date. The company confirmed Field’s departure did not involve any disagreements regarding operations, policies, or practices.
Cooper currently serves as president of Akanda’s subsidiary, First Towers and Fiber Corp. He brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate development and finance to the permanent role.
To facilitate a smooth transition, Akanda entered a month-to-month consulting agreement with an affiliate of Field. This arrangement for administrative and advisory services commenced on September 9, 2026.
