Almonty Industries received final mining facility inspection certificates from South Korean authorities, clearing the way for commercial sales from its Sangdong tungsten mine. [3, 4, 6, 12] Issued on September 17, the certificates were the last administrative requirement to process and sell tungsten concentrate to domestic and international buyers. [9, 12]

The approval marks the historically significant mine’s transition from development to commercial production after more than 30 years of closure. [4, 7, 11] Almonty has been processing ore since June 2026. [12] The company has scheduled the first vessel shipment of tungsten concentrate for October 24. [12, 13]

More than 90% of the mine’s initial production is already committed. [4, 12] The commitment is covered by a 21-year offtake agreement. [4, 12]
