AMC Entertainment Holdings achieved its highest weekend revenue in the company’s 106-year history. The record-breaking performance included the highest-ever admissions and food and beverage revenue for a single weekend. More than 10.2 million moviegoers visited AMC theaters globally from Wednesday through Sunday.
SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY drove the surge with a $355 million domestic opening. The film earned $927 million globally during its debut weekend.
CEO Adam Aron stated the results demonstrate the continued appeal of the theatrical experience for well-marketed films. AMC shares traded higher following the announcement.
