AMD released a new graphics driver, version 25.10.2, that notably alters its support strategy for older graphics cards. The update effectively separates its user base, providing game optimizations and expanded Vulkan support exclusively for its newer RDNA3 and RDNA4 architecture GPUs, such as the RX 7000 and RX 9000 series. Owners of the still popular RX 6000 and older RX 5000 series cards will no longer receive these performance enhancements in new driver releases. In a related but separate move within the same update, AMD also disabled the USB-C power delivery feature on its RX 7900 series graphics cards, recommending users who need that feature to stick with an older driver version.
