Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT. The collaboration combines AMD's CPUs and GPUs with locally developed Neural Processing Units (NPUs) from South Korean firms. This aims to create an open AI computing environment. AMD plans to establish an "AI Center of Excellence" in South Korea. The center will support technical collaboration, AI software development, and joint research. It will partner with local companies and universities.
