AMD plans to integrate next-generation LPDDR6 memory into future AI chips. Reports of the integration emerged on Tuesday.
The memory will feature in Ryzen AI MAX chips. The chips are codenamed "Medusa Halo." AMD expects a launch in 2027 or 2028. The series succeeds the Gorgon Halo line.
The upgrade targets a stronger position against Intel in the AI PC market. AMD stock rose following the reports.
Future RAM shortages may affect product pricing. Supply constraints could also impact availability.
