AMD officially announced the Radeon AI Pro R9700, a new graphics card designed for running large AI models locally on workstations. This new GPU is built on the RDNA 4 architecture and is equipped with 32GB of GDDR6 memory, positioning it as a powerful solution for AI professionals and creatives working with demanding AI workloads without needing data center access. The Radeon AI Pro R9700 is based on the Navi 48 chip and features 4096 stream processors. AMD is highlighting its ability to handle advanced AI scenarios, with performance benchmarks showing significant gains in specific AI tasks. The graphics card is priced at $1299 and is set to be available through AMD partners starting October 27. In a separate announcement on the same day, partner Supermicro unveiled a new MicroBlade server solution featuring AMD's EPYC 4005 series CPUs for cloud and enterprise workloads.
