Ray Dalio's Bridgewater Associates significantly reduced its stake in Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) by 58.3% during the second quarter of 2026, lowering its holdings from 1.29 million shares to approximately 538,600. This trade was disclosed in a mandatory quarterly 13F filing with the SEC on August 14, which reflects portfolio positions held as of June 30. Such filings are delayed, meaning the trades occurred between April and the end of June.

Despite the substantial share reduction, the reported market value of Bridgewater's remaining AMD position paradoxically increased from $263 million to nearly $313 million. This was driven by a massive surge in AMD's stock price, which climbed over 160% in the first half of 2026, reaching a 52-week high near the end of June. The stock's powerful performance, fueled by strong data center growth and AI-related optimism, also caused AMD's weighting within Bridgewater's portfolio to rise from 1.17% to 1.28%.
