Amplifon agreed to acquire GN Store Nord’s hearing aid business for DKK 17.0 billion. The transaction value equals approximately $2.6 billion. Amplifon will pay DKK 12.6 billion in cash. The deal includes 56 million Amplifon shares. GN Store Nord will hold a 16% stake in the Italian firm upon closing.

The merger combines Amplifon’s retail network with GN’s manufacturing and research capabilities. This transaction creates a vertically integrated global leader in the audiology industry. GN Store Nord will use the proceeds to significantly reduce corporate debt. The sale allows GN to focus on its audio and video technology divisions.

GN Store Nord shares surged by more than 35% following the announcement. Amplifon shares declined by over 8% on the news. Amplifon’s CEO described the acquisition as the most transformative in company history. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of 2026. Finalization remains subject to regulatory approvals.
