Amprius Technologies (AMPX) has signed a contract manufacturing agreement with CAMINUS to produce its silicon-anode pouch cells in the United States. The added domestic capacity will serve customers in aviation, defense, and uncrewed systems.

CAMINUS will manufacture the cells at its Indianapolis facility. Production will range from partial assembly of components supplied by Amprius to full cell production. The partnership supports Amprius’s strategy of expanding manufacturing capacity with minimal capital investment.

Qualification builds are underway, and volume production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The collaboration is intended to create a resilient, NDAA-compliant supply chain for mission-critical systems that rely on domestically produced batteries.
