Amazon is aggressively expanding its quick-commerce operations in India, aiming to establish 300 dark stores by the end of 2025 to facilitate 10-minute deliveries. This marks a rapid acceleration, with the company reportedly adding two micro-warehouses daily to its network across Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi-NCR, up from a total of 100 in September. The move intensifies competition in India's thriving quick-commerce space, where Amazon faces established players like Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart. Amit Agarwal, Amazon's senior vice-president for emerging markets, noted that the response to the 'Amazon now' service has been "extraordinary," reinforcing the company's commitment to pushing boundaries in e-commerce convenience.
