Amazon has announced a strategic plan to develop Vietnam into a prominent e-commerce export hub for Southeast Asia by the year 2026. The announcement was made by a senior executive at the 2025 Amazon Global Selling conference, highlighting Vietnam's fast-growing digital economy and export-focused manufacturing sector as key drivers for this initiative. A central part of this strategy is the introduction of the Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) program in Vietnam. This will enable Vietnamese goods to be shipped directly to Amazon's fulfillment centers in the United States. The move is expected to significantly lower logistics costs and shorten delivery times for local sellers, empowering them to focus more on production and brand development for international markets.
