APA Corporation referred its Bulloo Interlink Pipeline project for federal environmental assessment. This action marks a key milestone in the company's East Coast Gas Grid expansion plan.

The project aims to increase natural gas transport capacity from northern to southern Australian markets by 30%. This expansion addresses projected energy supply shortfalls beginning in 2028.

The 380km pipeline will connect the South West Queensland Pipeline to the Moomba Sydney Pipeline. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027. APA targets a project completion date in 2028.

APA previously allocated a $220 million investment for early works and long-lead items. Investment firm Hoertkorn Richard Charles purchased a $2.43 million stake in APA during the first quarter.
