ASML will raise prices by 10% on components for its major South Korean clients, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, starting in January. The rare, across-the-board increase applies to parts for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machines, including consumables and core repair parts such as optical systems and light sources.

The increase is reportedly driven by surging demand for memory chips and wafer production, fueled by investment in AI data centers. Samsung and SK Hynix have reportedly accepted the new pricing terms following negotiations.

The move signals a shift in bargaining power toward equipment suppliers. Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron have also reportedly raised prices.
